Black agate has long been regarded in folklore as a stone of protection, strength and balance, traditionally worn to absorb negative energy and help its wearer stay grounded under stress. Handmade from natural black agate chips, finished with an elastic stretch cord for a comfortable, no-clasp fit.

Agate deposits are found worldwide, notably Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), the United States (Lake Superior region, Montana, Oregon), Mexico, India (Gujarat), Germany (Idar-Oberstein) and Botswana. Note: solid black agate on the market is very often a naturally grey/banded agate that has been dyed a deep, even black, though naturally dark agate does also occur.
